Coated with zippy spices and fried in coconut oil, these are not your everyday fries. A terrific accompaniment to Sheril’s Barbeque Chicken Masala.

     

Masala Aloo – Spicy French Fries Recipe

Yields
4 servings

Ingredients

1½ teaspoons salt
¼ teaspoon Indian chilli powder
2 teaspoons ground fennel seeds
½ teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon garam masala
4 small potatoes, washed and cut into French Fry sticks and dried with a paper towel
10 Tablespoons coconut oil


Method

  1. Combine the salt, chilli powder, fennel, turmeric and garam masala in a bowl and then coat the potato French Fries and leave for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat the coconut oil in a wok on medium heat, add the fries and cook covered for 10 – 15 minutes or until golden and crispy.
  3. Enjoy with Sheril’s Barbeque Chicken Masala.
