We took jeeps on an expedition through the richnes We took jeeps on an expedition through the richness of Kerala’s Cardamom Hills down through hill station Nilgiri tea plantations and on down to rubber and pineapple 🍍 plantations. So easy to stop for chai or photos. We spent about 3 hours this way and loved the breeze in our faces, catching the fragrance of tropical flowers and soaking in the verdant life surrounding us. __ Wonderful to spend even a little time with dear Kerala friends again like Mr Abraham of @abrahams_spice garden (cover photo), Sherrill of Thekkady Barbeque Restaurant and @the_94_model 🏍️ Tigin (thx to amma for the Chikoo!) __ Once you have been to Periyar, you always long to return. Today travelling from Karaikudi, we stopped for chai and snacks at a Bhavan doing brisk local business (always a good sign. Owner Meenakshi Meyyapam says food should always be lip-smacking good and the chef team led by Pandyan and Kasi always deliver. The rooms are airy, spacious and spic n’ span clean. The pool and gardens soothing. And the team are dedicated and delightful.
